Chess Club
Chess Club is for students in second through fifth grade. Students learn how to play chess and participate in grade-level competitions. Chess Club is parent-led with Jennifer Howey as the staff sponsor. Chess Club meetings are 8-8:45 a.m. in the library. Please refer to the school calendar for specific dates.
CSI
CSI, Cool Science Investigations, is a club for fourth and fifth graders to enhance the positive experiences they have with science learning. Christopher Herrig, CSI sponsor, offers three sessions during the school year. Please refer to the school calendar for specific dates and times.
Kid Fit Club
Kid Fit Club is a physical fitness club for fourth and fifth grade students to have fun and increase their physical activity. Students also prepare to participate in the Jared Coones Memorial Run in the fall. KFC meets with McKensy Glass on Mondays from 3:55-4:45 p.m., with fourth grade and fifth grade alternating weeks.
Math Wings
Math Wings, an after-school math club, gives fourth and fifth grade students the opportunity to use higher-level math concepts and problem-solving skills. Students work in teams and will travel to several competitions throughout the year. Math Wings meets from 3:55-4:45 p.m. each Tuesday with Kellie McCubbins.
Special Chorus
Students in fourth and fifth grade can participate in a positive choral experience that allows them to be an integral part of a performing group. Special Chorus participants have two field trip tours that help build confidence and love of music. Special Chorus sponsor Gail Shriver holds rehearsals on Tuesdays from 8:15-8:45 a.m. for fourth grade, and Thursdays from 8:15-8:45 a.m. for fifth grade.
Spirit Squad
Spirit Squad is for all Meadow Lane students who are interested in showing their school spirit. The Spirit Squad practices throughout the year to prepare for their performances at the jog-a-thon, holiday shop, and school carnival. Spirit Squad, led by parent volunteers, encourages growth in students through dance and cheerleading, and encourages positivity and enthusiasm.
